Most shoulder problems can be managed with conservative treatment and will not need injections or surgery.
Most shoulder problems are due to an abnormal movement pattern of the shoulder movement. This causes mechanical strain and stress on the tissues leading to inflammation and pain.
When you hear the diagnosis of bursitis or tendonitis, what that means is that the bursa or tendon is inflamed. But it does not explain WHY the tissues are inflamed. It is usually because of the abnormal movement pattern of the shoulder.
The treatment we provide helps improve the shoulder movement patterns, reducing the mechanical strain, and consequently the inflammation and pain. We achieve this with chiropractic spinal adjustments and therapeutic exercise. The chiropractic adjustment improves the nerve function that controls the shoulder muscles. This improves the shoulder movement pattern. Then the exercises re-enforce the improved movement pattern.
