Will I Feel Sore After a Chiropractic Adjustment?

Will I feel sore after a chiropractic adjustment?

Maybe. Everyone is different. Some people are sore after a chiropractic adjustment and the degree of soreness also varies from person to person.

The soreness is usually minor and feels like after exercise soreness.

The soreness is more common after your first few chiropractic adjustments, but then as your body adapts the likelihood of soreness is significantly decreased.

Soreness is nothing to be concerned about. The soreness is due to the fact that your chiropractor is moving spinal bones and joints that have not been moving fully. So the soft tissues around the bones and joints (muscles, tendons, ligaments) are stretched. The stretching and movement is actually good for the joints and tissues and you will probably feel a lot better once the soreness resolves.

Chiropractic care is exceptionally safe and soreness after a chiropractic spinal adjustment is usually the most discomfort people feel after their treatment.
